Sprout Local Market & Café

Our goal is to raise $250,000 over the course of 2011-2012 to bring Sprout into the community and open up accessibility to locally created goods year round.

The objectives are as follows:  rent a storefront for use during the 2011 summer/fall/winter, work with established investors to purchase a permanent location in downtown Sandusky, begin renovations to bring property up to code, and begin to transition Sprout from the rental space into the new location by Spring/Summer 2012. With the community’s help, we can begin to create a new economy for local artisans, and a place to ensure our region’s farms have a sense of financial stability for the generations to come.

2011 Erie Fresh CSA

SANDUSKY, OH – In the dead of winter, with two long months to go before the first signs of spring, here is a little reassurance that it won’t be too long before Ohio weather brings the bounty of the growing season! Sponsored in part by The Erie Wire and locally-owned business Health Plus, The Erie County Coalition for Local Resources is proud to announce their third consecutive year operating the Erie Fresh Community Supported Agriculture Program and is now taking orders for 2011.

Erie Fresh CSA is a multi-grower program offering locally-raised fresh heirloom produce, meats, eggs, baked goods, honey, whole grain spelt flour, cut flowers and other cottage goods from Farmers in the Firelands region in north central Ohio. Our lake effect climate provides an extended growing season, giving us a seasonal variety of delicious, local food!
